Catch up on your summer reading with Vikes in the News!
|
Even with school not in session, Columbus Academy has been receiving quite a bit of publicity this summer. A front-page story in the July 24 Dispatch included several quotes from members of the CA community. Recently graduated seniors Rich Bracken and Joe Sanfilippo continued to earn positive reviews for their composting initiative. On July 7, the Dispatch printed a photo and small story about Riley Ransom, a rising fifth-grader who won a $25 prize associated with an Ohio Historical Center exhibit. Viking student-athletes Chris Crockett, Annie Carruthers and Will Petrie have all made recent appearances in the suburban newspapers. And 2005 Williams Cup recipient Logan Rhyne was featured in the June 28 Dispatch for his cross-country Bike & Build trip. To see a mid-summer collection of Academy press clippings, please CLICK HERE.

The Viking Corner, a new Columbus Academy store managed by Parents' Association of Columbus Academy volunteers (formerly the PACA Shopper), is scheduled to open on Monday, August 20, in the Dining Hall. Most of the items sold will be spirit wear, school supplies, novelty and special order items, and dress-code-approved fleece and sweatshirts. In addition, PE uniforms (two t-shirts and one pair of shorts for $30) will also be sold. These uniforms will not be required for the school's PE classes until the 2008-09 school year but will be sold this year. More information on this exciting new venture will be provided in the coming weeks! If you are interested in volunteering at THE VIKING CORNER one hour a
week, please contact Carol Aronowitz at 5rhinos@columbus.rr.com. |
|
The Viking Corner will be open and staffed from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 2:30-3:30 p.m. every school day!
