Celebration of Leadership just two days away
|
Upper School classes on Wednesday,
November 28, will begin at 10:05 a.m. due to the Celebration of Leadership assembly from 4-5 p.m. that
afternoon. The adjusted schedule means Upper School classes will be held from 10:05 a.m. until 3:50 p.m. before the entire Upper School
hears Christopher Gardner (click here for bio) tell his extraordinary rags-to-riches story that is
the basis for his autobiography and the hit film, "The Pursuit of Happyness." Mr. Gardner's address to the Upper School
will be videotaped and made available on the school's Web site. For more information on the Celebration of Leadership, which is
offered as a thank you and stimulus to CA's Annual Fund leadership donors
(gifts of $2,500 or more), please contact Erin Saurborn, Director of Annual
Giving, at 614-509-2256 or erin_saurborn@columbusacademy.org.

|
|
Columbus Academy juniors Zeshawn Ali, Lauren Falkenberg, Chyna
Johnson, Sam Korda, Ariana Todd and Melissa Vorenberg will spend this Wednesday
through Saturday at the Student Diversity Leadership Conference in Boston. The purpose of the conference is to give thousands
of students from independent schools across the country the understanding and
tools to effectuate necessary changes in their schools when it comes to
appreciating and respecting differences.
According to Director of Diversity Deidre Hamlar, past CA attendees have
said it is one of the most moving and meaningful experiences they have ever
had. In addition to Hamlar, faculty
members Kay Mason (third grade) and Dr. Janet Nunez (US Spanish) will accompany
