CA featured on front page of today's Dispatch
|
The Columbus
Academy is prominently
featured in a front-page story in today's Columbus Dispatch. The article about finding the best high
school in central Ohio
highlights CA as the preferred choice for a prospective family and
resulted from the reporter's visit to our Admissions Open House on December 2. Also in this
week's news, Academy junior Layne Averill (pictured left) is named Field
Hockey Player of the Year by Suburban News Publications, senior basketball
standout Alex Marchetti is profiled and the AquaVikes' swimming season is
previewed. To see all of this week's press clips, click here. And for a list of postseason honors for all of
the Vikings' fall varsity sports teams, click here. (Team awards are not listed but if anything
else is missing, please email Bob Lee at bob_lee@columbusacademy.org so
the list can be updated.)

Interior Threat Lockdown Drill on Tuesday
|
|
In an ongoing effort to make our campus as safe
as possible, Columbus
Academy will hold an Interior Threat Lockdown Drill at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday,
December 11. This drill will help
prepare our faculty, staff and students in the event that a disruptive force is
inside one of the school buildings or there is a situation within one of the
school buildings that would involve more than normal discipline to resolve the
situation. In addition to familiarizing
everyone with the proper procedures during such an incident, the drill will
also serve as another test of the recently installed campus-wide emergency
communication system. A similar lockdown
drill for an exterior threat was successfully staged last spring. Current state law requires at least one
lockdown drill per school year. All
exterior campus doors will be locked during the Lockdown. If you arrive at school between 8:30-9:30 a.m.,
please take your student to the front door of Academy Hall and you will be met
by the security guard or a school official. |

flight to the most populous country in the world. Also included in this week's gallery are photos
from third-grade drama exercises, the PACA Winter Breakfast and the sendoff for
