At the district swimming and diving

100 breaststroke with a school-record time of 57.70 while freshman Natalie
Ritter (pictured) won the 1-meter diving title with a school-record 420.25 points. Lopresti also qualified for the state meet in
the 200 IM, where his second-place time of 1:55.43 was just .01 off the
winner's mark. Also qualifying for this
week's state meet in Canton were senior Paulina Canini, who finished third in
the 50 free (25.25) and fourth in the 100 free (55.50), the boys' fifth-place 200
medley relay (Jackson Humphrey, Lopresti, William Rosler and David Karikomi) and
the girls' second-place 400 free relay (Natalie Szykowny, Laura Caplinger, Ali
Dillon and Canini) and third-place 200 medley relay (Caplinger, Chelsea Dipman,
Dillon and Canini). Overall, the Viking
girls placed fifth in the district while the boys managed sixth. A recap of the state meet, as well as Sheri
Dillon's swimming photos from throughout the season, will be included in next
week's Viking Voice. In wrestling
sectionals, senior Bryan Panzano took runner-up honors in the 171-pound bracket
to advance to district competition. In
boys basketball, meanwhile, the Vikes beat Liberty Union and East Knox to

Please confirm receipt of school closing messages
|
| We have now gone through two versions of our
school closing communication procedures.
On Tuesday, February 12, we set the 3n
communications system to contact all numbers two times or until
confirmation was received. Based on
initial parent feedback, we adjusted that Wednesday morning to contact only home and mobile numbers one time
or until confirmation was received.
Please note that if you answer the call, the system will ask you to dial
"1" to hear the message and "1" again
after the message to confirm receipt.
This will stop further attempts by the system to contact you. If you prefer NOT to be contacted for
non-emergency conditions, numbers can be
made non-contactable for standard messages by logging into 3n and setting
the standard priority for a phone to N/A.
Standard priority alerts
include snow days or school closing due to facility outages. Emergency
alerts include emergency situations or weather events that would cause the
school to go into lock down. Later this
week, 3n Online registration information will be sent again to those not
already registered.
