MS Coin Wars raises $7,000 for local charity
MS Check PresentationDuring last Friday's Middle School assembly, the MS Leadership Council presented a check for $7,000 (see this week's Around Academy gallery) to Adventures for Wish Kids, a local charity that enriches the lives of children with life threatening illnesses and their families by providing year round, fun-filled group activities and destination events, fostering joy, laughter, normalcy and supportive networking opportunities.  The funds were raised through the annual Coin Wars, a program aimed at bringing the MS together (both students and faculty) in thinking about those who are less fortunate.  Throughout the five-day event last month, Middle Schoolers filled containers with all the loose change they could find.  In the end, the seventh-graders won the interclass competition by amassing 438,448 total points to easily outdistance the eighth grade (runner-up), fifth grade (third place) and sixth grade (fourth).
CA's final Late Start Day is this Wednesday
Please do not forget that this Wednesday is a Late Start day, meaning classes will not begin until 9:30 a.m. due to a faculty and staff professional development session.  Lower School students can go to the CASE room beginning at 7:30 a.m. while Middle School students can go to the MS Library.  Both rooms will have adult supervision.  Upper School students should find a quiet place to study or read.
