Mrs. Darnell Heywood (photo right) will become Columbus Academy’s new Director of College Counseling, effective July 1, 2008. Heywood has been the Director of College Counseling at Columbus School for Girls since 2002 and was the Associate Director of Admissions for Kenyon College, her alma mater, for six years prior to CSG. Heywood lives in German Village with her husband and two sons. She will replace Sarah Brewer, who has accepted a similar position at the Latin School of Chicago. Also, CA’s Upper School will have Co-Deans of Students next year. Health teacher Sheri Dillon will be responsible for students in grades 9-10 while science teacher Tim Leet will oversee grades 11-12. The vacancy was created when current Dean of Students John Wuorinen was named earlier this year to replace Lou Schultz, who is retiring as the Director of Admissions in June.
